Civil Engineering Professionals and Institutions provide resources and advice to the CEIE Department.

Who and why would be interested to join?

• Members/Sponsors and Potential Members/Sponsors
  • Want to learn about CEI to decide whether to join
  • Want to find out what they are getting for their contribution (i.e. what is CEI accomplishing)
  • Want recognition for their participation (i.e. good PR)
• Students looking for scholarships, internships, career help
  • Money and jobs are a powerful draw; students want to know how to get them but currently the site has nothing about this
  • Want recognition for their participation in internships
  • Want to be connected with professionals in their field who can give them career advice
• Prospective students
  • Want to know that the department is backed by a companies and organizations in their desired field
  • Want to see how current students are benefiting from CEI
• Media
  • Want to be spoon fed information that they can quickly turn into articles
  • CEI wants to give its members/sponsors as much publicity as possible

	CEI Members meet monthly to discuss current needs and options of helping the department achieving its objectives. As an example they receive and administer funds for scientific and educational purposes of the GMU civil engineering program.
To honor its members the Civil Engineering Institute organized its first Annual Awards Luncheon on January 31, 2006 The photo album can be enjoyed from here.
CEI designated funds for students to participate in trips to Hong Kong and Panama. Both trips were filled with many professional activities.
